Private Alexander Lessons
Changing deeply entrenched habits of posture and movement can seem overwhelming. Alexander Technique lessons provide concrete skills to address your habits and change them for the better.
You will be more successful if you study consistently in the beginning. An introductory course is usually 24 lessons.
In the beginning, students are encouraged to study as intensively as possible—up to three or more days a week, whenever possible. At minimum, lessons should be scheduled once a week.
Every student’s needs are different. Set up a first lesson in order to determine the best way for you to study the Alexander Technique.
The first lesson is $85 and lasts one hour. You can use the acuity scheduling calendar here to set up a first lesson. (Setting up a lesson requires a credit card, but the credit card will not be charged unless the lesson is canceled without 24 hrs notice.)
I offer discounted packages of four, eight, and twelve lessons.
- Four lesson package: $280 ($70/lesson)
- Eight lesson package: $520 ($65/lesson)
- Twelve lesson package: $720 ($60/lesson)
If you are interested in a package of lessons, we can discuss the details at your first lesson.
I do offer a sliding scale for students and artists who have difficulty affording lessons. Please inquire about a sliding scale when signing up for a first lesson.
Lessons may be paid at the time of your appointment, by cash, check, or credit card.
A credit card is required to confirm your first lesson online, but will not be charged unless you cancel with less than 24 hours notice.
Payment Plans for Intensives
For individuals who are interested in intensives but aren’t able to pay the full amount up front, I offer payment plans that allow you to pay for your intensive over the course of several weeks.
You are required to give 24 hours notice for canceling or rescheduling a lesson. You will receive an automatic reminder of your lesson 24 hours before your lesson time. Your credit card will be charged for lessons canceled with less than 24 hours of the appointment, or in the event of a no-show.
Lessons begin and end on time. Lessons will not be extended past their schedule time in the event that a lesson starts late due to student tardiness.
Most comfortable, everyday clothing is appropriate for an Alexander lesson. Please avoid tight-fitting clothes that restrict movement or anything that might be unintentionally revealing, such as tank tops or skirts.
